John Kitzhaber wins the race for Oregon governor

Chris Dudley has conceded the race for governor to John Kitzhaber.

As numbers continue to roll in, Kitzhaber’s lead has been widening over Republican Chris Dudley as the counting continues.  The race has been neck-in-neck all night and day, with leads changing hands and speculation flying.

The Oregonian announced Kitzhaber as the winner at around 7 p.m. Wednesday, and soon afterwards Chris Dudley made his announcement, conceding the governorship to former governor John Kitzhaber.

Kitzhaber is the only Oregonian ever to  be elected to the state’s highest office three times. Here’s a link to the final tallies.
