“Architecture of the Past” opens at Liquid Assets

A new photography exhibit by Southern Oregon University student Richard W. Balzer is now on display at Liquid Assets.

“Architecture of the Past” features 10 striking black and white images of scenes from Portland, San Francisco and Chicago. Some of the buildings have since been torn down, but their character has been preserved in these photgraphs.

“These old buildings have stories of their own,” says Balzer in his artist’s statement. “The wind and rain, the sun and shade have worn their once proud faces, etching the passage of time, recording events of history.”

“Architecture of the Past” is showing until June 17. Liquid Assets is located at 96 N. Main St. in Ashland.
