Raider Lacrosse Drops Two Of Three Games

The Southern Oregon University Men’s Lacrosse team extended their win streak to four before dropping their next two games ahead of April 30 match against Whitman in Walla Walla, Wash.

The Raiders defeated College of Idaho 18-to-5 to extend their winning streak to four and continue their impressive play.

Despite the win, the Raiders found themselves down early at 4-to-1.

It wasn’t until the second quarter that Southern Oregon started to put their authority on the match and eventually ran out 18-to-5 winners.

However, the Raiders could not extend their winning ways to five games when they lost to the University of Portland Pilots 13-to-6 on April 17. The win was the Pilots first ever win over Southern Oregon.

Midfielder Max Raynor scored twice for the Raiders while Goalie Carter Boggess pulled off 17 saves to lead Southern Oregon.

The Raiders were unable to bounce back against No. 6 Western Oregon on April 24 as they wound up losing 15-to-4.

Southern Oregon managed to stay level at 1-to-1, but following two shots off the goal frame and a wasted one-on-one opportunity, Western Oregon turned the tide and made sure the Raiders did not find a way back into the game.

The game was meant to determine the No. 1 seed in the South Division of the PNCLL for playoffs.

With the loss, the Raiders will now travel to Walla Walla, Wash. to face Whitman in the first round of playoffs.

Earlier this season, Southern Oregon defeated Whitman by a score of 7-to-5.
