Southern Oregon improves to 10-3 in duals this season as the Raiders concluded their home dual schedule for the 2011-12 season. The Raiders will travel to Forest Grove to face Pacific on Feb. 3 in SOU’s final dual of the season. Southern Oregon’s next home event will be the NAIA Western Region Qualifying Tournament on Feb. 18.

“It was nice to go out for the seniors with victories tonight,” SOU head coach Mike Ritchey said. “It’s the point of the season where we’ve been training hard, so the guys had to dig a little deep in a couple matches. I think we’re in the right place, right frame of mind to finish out the season where we want to go.”

Lofstedt opened the dual with a pin of Simon Fraser’s Skylor Davis in 2:08 to win the 125-pound match. Simon Fraser’s J.J. Lum took a 3-1 overtime decision over Miguel Baltazar in the 133, but the Raiders won the next three matches.

Brock Lamb upset No. 7 Brian Lemmon with a 5-2 decision to earn the Clan’s second match win of the dual in the 165. Tyler Thomas picked up SOU’s second pin of the night in the 174 match, taking down Max Arcand in 2:04. Fourth-ranked Austin Vanderford followed with an injury default victory in the 184 before Simon Fraser closed out the dual with victories in the 197 and heavyweight matches.

The SOU-SFU dual closed out a busy day of wrestling at Bob Riehm Arena, as the Clan took on Clackamas Community College at 3 p.m. and the Raiders defeated Clackamas C.C. 25-12 in an exhibition dual at 5 p.m.
