Raiders Tie in First Conference Match Against Northwest Christian

SOU vs NW Christian
ASHLAND, Ore. – After a dramatic double overtime end, the Southern Oregon University women’s soccer team finished its first Cascade Collegiate Confrence match with a 0-0 tie against Northwest Christian on Thursday at University Field.

Despite dominating for a majority of the match offensively, the Raiders were unable to beat the defense of the Beacons who seemed to stack its players near Northwest Chirstians goal to insure a scoreless result.

The Raiders tallied 24 shots in the match compared to only four shots for the Beacons. SOU totaled eight shots on target all of which were saved by the goalie. Seven different Raiders finished with a shot on goal while Northwest Christian stayed with a defensive strategy.

With the tie, the Raiders now sit with a 4-2-3 record.

The Raiders return to action on Saturday as they prepare to face CCC opponent Corban at 10 a.m. at University Field.
