The name Suzy Bogguss first started appearing in country music charts in 1987, and its appearance across the music industry has not slowed down since then. Many years later, the talented singer has released numerous albums, including a platinum album and three golds. She has received accolades from the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, the CMT, and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Recently, Suzy Bogguss has been touring to share her love of historic and potentially overlooked folk music. Bogguss has experience in performing country, jazz, and swing, which enables her to revisit classic folk pieces like “Red River Valley” and cast a fresh light upon them. And she’s bringing them to SOU.

In support of her recording of traditional American folk songs, Suzy Bogguss will be holding a concert at the SOU Music Recital Hall (off of South Mountain Ave) on Saturday, October 5th, at 7:30pm. There are expected to be hundreds in attendance. Tickets not already reserved will be sold at the door of the Music Hall, for $25 or $28 depending on seating. For SOU students carrying their school ID, concert tickets are a reasonable $10. Hope to see you there.
