The Ashland Independent Film Festival is looking for volunteers for the upcoming festival in April 2014, and they’re inviting SOU students to come join in. The AIFF is a five day event, beginning April 3rd, 2014 at the Varsity Theatre downtown. Though the films for this year have not yet been announced, the AIFF has a history of featuring high quality independent films not only from local but also international filmmakers.

The Festival needs volunteers in a variety of areas, including box office sales, transport of filmmakers, production crew and ushering. According to their website, the Film Festival gets help from over 350 volunteers each year, so there’s plenty of room for all of those who would like to help out with this exciting event. Depending on the hours put in, volunteers receive two to four film vouchers for the festival’s showings.

Those interested can visit the Film Festival’s website at http://ashlandfilm.org for more information and volunteer forms, under “Support”. There will be a Volunteer Orientation meeting in early January, 2014. Students can also email volunteers@ashlandfilm.org, or call them at 541-488-3823.
