This is the best movie that I have seen in a very long time. Lone Survivor will remind you what Navy Seals truly do in order to protect our country. Lone Survivor (directed by Peter Berg) is based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission “Operation Red Wings”. In it, four members of SEAL Team 10 (Marcus Luttrell, Michael Murphy, Matthew Axelson, and Danny Dietz) were tasked with the mission of capturing or killing infamous Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd. The four members of SEAL Team 10 were portrayed by Mark Wahlberg as Marcus Luttrell, Taylor Kitsch as Michael Murphy, Ben Foster as Matthew Axelson, and Emile Hirsh as Danny Dietz.

Mark Wahlberg has proven that he is an actor who is worth the million dollar pay check. His dedication to his craft and his commitment to tell the story of the brave men of Seal Team 10 shows just how good he is on screen.  This is the film that will go down as a defining moment in his acting career. I am certain that he will be nominated and will win the Oscar for Best Actor this year.

Another standout performance was Taylor Kitsch. Kitsch badly needed a successful movie after his recent string of box office disasters (John Carter, Battleship, and Savages). Kitsch proved in this move that he is an actor that is worthy of worldwide recognition and praise from the movie industry and from the public.

Lone Survivor is a fast paced movie that’s well-directed and well-acted by every actor involved. This story of courage against overwhelming odds will move you to tears. Before you see this movie, my advice to bring an abundance of tissues because you will need them. I highly recommend this movie to all movie lovers.
