Ashland, Ore. – The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will be hosting a series of Hip-Hop Poetry Open Mic Nights on April 7th and May 5th from 7 – 9 pm at The Black Swan at OSF on Pioneer Street. These events are free for the community and are intended to provide everyone with a welcoming outlet to share their creativity. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Well-known poets have been brought in for the events by OSF. Samiya Bashir will be featured April 7th and Los Porteños will be featured May 5th.

OSF makes it a goal to provide the arts to all communities, and holds over 100 live performances a year featuring over 75 performance groups – all for free. OSF also aims to create accessibility for audiences, casting deaf and hard of hearing actors who sign during shows.

“At Oregon Shakespeare Festival we believe that good begets good. Inclusivity is our way of giving a gift back to the community for all that they have given us.” says Mickey Rowe.
