Starting May 19 and running until May 23, the Oregon Fringe Festival is a student-run event involving various departments on campus with help from Dr. David Humphrey. The event will be held on the Southern Oregon University campus and Environs at various times throughout the day starting at 9 a.m. and lasting past 11:30 p.m.

Events scheduled include “Shakespeare in Drag” and a May 21 performance by an international professional beat-boxing juggler, Bronkar at 12:30 p.m. in the Stevenson Union. According to the artist’s website, Bronkar is an international superstar and multiple world record holder who has honed his craft with appearances all over the United States, Canada and Europe. He has been a featured act on Disney and Celebrity cruise lines, at Madison Square Garden, and at colleges, corporate events and theaters. He has also been featured on television programs such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, America’s got Talent, Good Day Sacramento, Winnipeg’s Global TV and Univision’s Don Francisco Presents.

Student Brian Busk is also scheduled to be one of the performers at OFF. Busk has been designing and building a robot for the event that will be featured, as well as show a shadow puppet play after a performance he will be attending.

“I think it’s going to be really out there, in a good way, but the event hasn’t started yet so I can’t truly say,” Busk says. “I’m excited to be a part of it.”
