Don’t be fooled by the recent warm weather. There are plenty of wintery events coming to SOU next week, courtesy of EPIC.
Starting on Monday, the student-led Event Planning Involvement Committee is hosting a series of “epic” events. Most students refer to this action-packed week as the 2013 Snow Fiesta. It’s the perfect way to celebrate after finishing midterms.
The Snow Fiesta kicks off Monday afternoon with a campfire in the SU Courtyard (Hot cocoa and marshmallows will be available between noon and 2pm). Later that night there will be movies and a homely soul food dinner in the Rogue River Room.
On Tuesday, renowned filmmaker Byron Hurt will be visiting SOU and showing his film “Soul Food Junkies”. An intriguing lecture will be offered afterwards, and that’s just the start of it. Other highlights of the week will include a Poetry Slam, Recyclemania, a World Fair, QRC Ally Training, and a heroic snowshoe journey to the heart of Mt. Ashland.
