Ashland, Ore. – The well-known drummer Zoro will be performing a free drum clinic in the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall on March 14 at 7:00 p.m. presented by the Music program of the Department of Performing Arts at SOU.
The clinic will involve Zoro teaching the art of time keeping using both grooves and fills and the tools and insight needed to develop a variety of essential grooves. Audience members will learn the “Four T’s” to becoming a great musician and will come to better understand expanding their groove vocabulary on the drum set.
Internationally known, Zoro has worked with artists Lenny Kravitz, Bobby Brown, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The New Edition, Jody Watley, Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, Sean Lennon, Lisa Marie Presley, Lincoln Brewster, Phil Keaggy and more. He is considered a rock and R&B musician, and has been voted “#1 R&B Drummer & Educator” in Modern Drummer, Drum! and Rhythm Magazines. He has a best-selling book and DVD, The Commandments of R&B Drumming, and is featured on the DVD release, Modern Drummer Festival 2005.
