Raiders, welcome back! Winter term is upon us and excitement is in the air. With the first 2 weeks of the term already under our belts, now more than ever we need to stay focused and keep the momentum going. To help facilitate a productive term, SOU has resources available to all students that have been cleared for on campus activity.
The Hannon Library offers a warm atmosphere with big bright windows, high ceilings, and a comforting quiet air. This is an ideal place to study! With individual or group study rooms available to rent, the library is a perfect place to stay focused on your work.

Located on the first floor of the library, the Tutoring Center is another great resource for students that want help understanding assignments or another set of eyes to read through papers. Offering services in writing, math, and science, these highly skilled tutors are here to help students grasp concepts they might be struggling to understand and ensure the best grade possible! Students can drop-in if needed, but scheduling an appointment is always preferred. You can view the Tutoring Center’s general information and book either 30 minute or 60 minute appointments following the link above. If you have questions, please contact the Coordinator of Library Student Support Services Daniel Scharf at scharfd@sou.edu.
We at the Siskiyou are beyond excited that Southern Grounds has re-opened! This cafe was under construction during Fall term and the remodel has made it better than ever! With new and creative thirst quenching drinks, and a deliciously wide variety of both hot and cold food, this is not a place you should sleep on. Located to the left of the library when you walk in, students can bask in the warm atmosphere of Southern Grounds and build community by lounging in comfortable seating with friends, or study with a mouthwatering snack.

This term can be a daunting one for students. It is far too easy to fall into burnout in the middle of the school year, but with all of the resources available this can be withstood. Remember we are not our grades. The most important thing to keep in mind this term is to take breaks when needed, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and do what you need to do to take care of yourself!
