Terrie Martin’s journalism class has been working hard over the last several weeks to make information about local elections available to Southern Oregon University students.
Since the beginning of the term they have interviewed campus organizers, done in-depth paper trails on local politicians, and profiled the candidates campaigning for Jackson County commissioner.
Up until now they have been focused on the race for Jackson County commissioner, but on Tuesday night they will be covering the elections in real time.
With headquarters at the Higher Education Center in Medford and teams reporting from the Jackson County courthouse, the Blue Bash, and both the Republican and Democratic party headquarters, the class hopes to capture the spirit of election night: the suspense, the hope, the soaring feeling of triumph and the crushing weight of failure.
