Ashland, Ore. – Southern Oregon University’s men’s rugby team returned from last weekends trip to Seattle with a 17-7 victory over Seattle University.
Both teams were held without a try for a majority of the match until SOU gained the lead after team captain Greg Filmore broke away for a long run.
Southern Oregon would add to the lead once outside center Chad Anderson sped past Seattle U for a try to put SOU ahead by two scores. Filmore would later complete the last conversion to bring the final score 17-7.
The men’s team will travel to Klamath Falls on Saturday, April 20th along with the women’s team to take on Oregon Tech. Women play at 10 a.m. while the men play at 1 p.m.
Men’s rugby will return home on April 27th for a huge match against rival Western Oregon. More details to follow
