The Ashland City Council is meeting this evening to discuss proposed ordinances that will affect panhandling within the town. Downtown Ashland, which is heavily frequented by tourists this time of year, is a hotspot for sign wavers and others asking passerby’s for change. Some tourists feel quite uncomfortable by this and one went as far as to say that he felt like, “a walking ATM.” Though tonight’s meetings might not end in a decisive vote, cases for and against the ordinances will be heard.
