The candidates for Position 3 of the Jackson County Commissioner’s race have both noted the frustration citizens have expressed with the current structure of the county planning department, as reported by the Medford Mail Tribune.
John Rachor is running as a Republican for the position. Rachor is currently the President of Applegate Restaurants Inc. He has also been a helicopter pilot for the Jackson County Search and Rescue for 33 years. Rachor has been a member of the Table Rock Improvement District, the Jackson County Airport Advisory Committee, and the US Navy Seabees. He is a lifelong resident of Southern Oregon and could provide a plan to build and strengthen the current economic situation. Mark Wisnovsky is running as a Democrat. He is currently the President/ co-owner of Valley View Winery. He has been the co-chair of the $189 million Medford School District School Facilities Bond in 2006, Long-Range Facilities Planning Commission from 2005-2006, and the Community Task Force Committee in 2007. Wisnovsky has also co-founded the Hearts and Vines Auction and the Southern Oregon Winery Association.
