SOU Wrestling looking for another winning season

For forty years the Southern Oregon wrestling program has been nothing but victorius and with a new season just around the corner, it looks like another winning season is about to get underway.

Under the guidance of head coach Mike Ritchey, who has coached for 15 years, this year’s set of wrestlers include several of last years standouts as well as a few new faces hungry for success.

2009 National Champion in the 184-pound division Chris Platt is back for more success along with several other top finishers.

Southern Oregon has been ranked at No. 12 in this year’s NAIA Preseason Top 20 poll.

Wrestlers Jared Dalgleish, Platt and Jimmy Eggemeyer are all picked to finish sixth in their respective weight classes.

On Wednesday, Southern Oregon will hold its annual Red and Black Intrasquad Dual in the McNeal Pavillion at 7 p.m., before participating in the Pacific Open this coming Sunday to get their season underway.
