Not registered to vote yet? Time is running out.
The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Tuesday, Oct.16. If you are at least 17 years old and a U.S. citizen, stop by the Stevenson Union courtyard between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Volunteers with the Student Vote Coalition will help you register.
All you need to bring with you is your Oregon drivers license or have the last four digits of your Social Security number ready. If you do not have either of these forms of identification, don’t panic. Simply bring a:
- Utility bill
- Recent paycheck stub
- Bank statement
- Or government document with your information on it.
If you can’t make it to the table hours at the SU, there is also a printable version of the form available online here, that you can fill out and send to the Jackson County Elections Office. Remember, the deadline to register is Oct.16, so don’t waste time. Get registered and get involved.
Who Shouldn’t Register?
Students involved in the Western Undergraduate Exchange program as well as students from Alaska should not register to vote in Oregon. By registering to vote in another state, it puts them at risk to lose their home state residencies and their stipends.
