The annual Pear Blossom Parade, Run and Festival in downtown Medford is set to take off this Saturday, April 11th. Each year, the Pear Blossom Festival is comprised of the parade, various races, and a street fair.
“This festival is a great community event. It is 100% volunteer and couldn’t be pulled off without the dedication and stamina of all the volunteers, City of Medford, and sponsors,” says Cindy Buckalew, the Parade Chair and Treasurer of the Pear Blossom Festival.
The two mile long parade is a way for all types of community members to come together for the weekend, “There is a great variety of entries involved in the parade from children’s groups, veteran’s groups, local businesses and more.” It will run about two and a half hours and according to Cindy, locals can expect the festival to continue to have success in years to come. “(The festival) has grown in leaps and bounds, we just keep growing with it.”
