Senior Claims Second in Decathlon

Southern Oregon senior Alex Waroff had another big day as he finished second in the decathlon at the Mt. Hood Multi-Event meet.

Waroff finished with 6,617 points, which was just three points shy of the total he had last year at the NAIA National Championships when her earned All-American honors. The total should be enough to make another trip to the National Championships this year.

Waroff’s day included numerous personal bests.

The senior ran 4:39.12 in the 1,500 and 16.01 in the hurdles. He also vaulted 13-03.5 in the pole vault and throw 170 in the javelin and 121 in the discus.

Freshman Josh Wilson finished 10th in the event with 4,502 points.
