Last week the Southern Oregon University Men’s Lacrosse team made headlines with five players being honored for their on-field success this season, most notably Senior Defender Joey Moseanko who was named the PNCLL Defensive Player of the Year.
The Raiders had two 1st Team All-Conference players in Sophomore Attack Tom Halley who scored a team high, 44 goals along with 26 assists and 70 points. The second 1st Team All-Conference player was Senior Defender Joey Moseanko, who led the team with 69 ground balls, while scoring 2 goals in his final season.
Senior Midfielder Sean McQuown was honored with a place on the 2nd Team All-Conference with 11 goals, 31 assists, and 42 points to close out his career as the only Raider Lacrosse player to be a 4-year Captain.
Freshman Attack AJ Chase and Senior Midfielder Patrick Verdun received Honorable Mention recognition. Verdun recorded 34 goals, 7 assists, and 42 points to end his senior season, while Chase lead the team with 32 assists, along with 30 goals and 60 points for the Raiders.
The Raiders finished the season with an 8-5 overall, 2-2 league record, with a 19-to-6 loss to Western Washington University in the first round of the PNCLL playoffs. They will be losing 4 seniors this season, but have 14 returning players to highlight next season.
