Rogue Valley Community Television will be hosting an open house to commemorate its rebranding as the Southern Oregon Digital Media Center on Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The open house will be the first of several events in January and February related to the rebranding of the studio, which serves both university students and the public.
“The open house will be a way to connect producers to local advocacy groups, and folks who have a passion for videography in order to help,” said Charles Douglas, the public access assistant coordinator at Southern Oregon DMC.
“[There is] a vision of public access cable television being incorporated into the larger academic mission of SOU,” he added, although he also noted that the studio has worked with both Ashland High School and Ashland Middle School in the past, and plans to keep working with them in the future.
In addition the public open house there will also be a potluck, tour, and a brief presentation, as well as time to mingle. There will be limited parking on Webster Street, but parking is also available on Wightman Street below 7-Eleven on the right.
