The Meyer Memorial Trust has given the Southern Oregon Film Society, which operates the Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) the $25,000 Grassroots Grant to support operating expenses associated with the Festival.

The Meyer Memorial Trust has given AIFF funding twice in the past, and is a private foundation that has awarded almost $607 million to various organizations since 1982.

The AIFF reaches an audience of approximately 10,000, mostly aged 55 or older and living within a 50-mile radius of Ashland. The AIFF hopes to use the Grassroots Grant to reach an even wider audience, particularly one that encompasses all ages. Expanded outreach activities will aim to attract a younger and more geographically diverse audience.

The 13th annual AIFF takes place April 3 – 7, 2014 and will showcase over 85 films. There are also year-round screenings to area residents. Memberships for 2014 are available now at ashlandfilm.org
