SOU Chamber Choir Performance on Sunday

The Southern Oregon University Chamber Choir will be performing a one-hour concert titled “A Rose in Winter” on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Music Recital Hall on the SOU campus.

The SOU Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble comprised of forty undergraduate students. The choir has performed internationally and is under the direction of Dr. Paul French. French has an extensive background in music, particularly singing and is also the Artistic Director/Conductor of the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers. French has performed as tenor soloist at major music festivals such as the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival and has conducted for leading musical organizations including Rogue Opera, Jefferson Baroque Orchestra, Northwest Bach Ensemble, Chelan Bach Festival and the Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra.

The concert will feature two works by the Dutch composer Jetse Bremer, and “Salve Regina,” composed by local treasure, Jodi French, with Amber Traver as soprano soloist.

Tickets for this concert are $10 for regular admission, $5 for seniors and free for full-time students. Box office hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours prior to each performance.
