Gas prices creep higher

The national average for gas prices is creeping higher, with a solid 20 cent increase since late November, the New York Times reported.

A research professor at the University of Southern California, Dr. Doug Wyatt, predicts prices to hit $4.00 by the spring.  Wyatt says that a worldwide shortage of oil mixed with market competition between China and the U.S. is driving the price higher.
